As part of Artificial Intelligence Action Summit (AIA), 2025, the France has launched the “AI Convergence” challenges in order to showcase the dynamism of academic and industrial ecosystems and the tangible foundation of innovations they operate on globally.

About Artificial Intelligence Action Summit

  • Artificial Intelligence Action Summit (AIA) is scheduled to take place on February 10 and 11, 2025.
  • Place – Grand Palais in Paris, France.
  • Host – France Government
  • Main Aim – To convene a diverse group of participants, including heads of state and government, leaders of international organizations, business executives, academics, non-governmental organizations, artists, and members of civil society.
  • Presidency – French President Emmanuel Macron.
  • First edition of the Summit – Organized by the UK in November 2023.

Artificial Intelligence Action Summit (AIA) seeks to foster international collaboration and concrete actions to ensure that AI development and deployment lead to positive outcomes for society, the economy, and the environment.

In preparation for the summit, several events and initiatives have been organized, including the AI & Environment Winterschool, which aims to engage students and recent graduates in discussions about AI’s impact on sustainability. France has also extended an invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the summit, highlighting India’s significant role in the global AI landscape.

Themes of 2025 AIA Summit

The Summit will focus on 5 key themes that are –

  • Public Interest AI: Defining and delivering critical open public infrastructure to drive beneficial social, economic, and environmental outcomes.
  • Future of Work: Exploring how AI can support the future of work by enhancing productivity and well-being.
  • Innovation and Culture: Building dynamic and sustainable innovation ecosystems in collaboration with various economic sectors, notably cultural and creative industries.
  • Trust in AI: Consolidating mechanisms to build trust in AI, based on objective scientific consensus on safety and security issues.
  • Global AI Governance: Shaping an effective and inclusive framework of international governance for AI, building on existing initiatives like the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence.
