Gangasagar Mela is celebrated in Gangasagar which is the confluence of the Hooghly River and the Bay of Bengal in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. Recently, Chief Minister announced to construct a 5-km-long Gangasagar Setu across the Muriganga river to connect the mainland to Sagar Island.
