  • Strategic military exercise conducted by Indian Army.
  • Main Focus – High altitude warfare and operations.
  • Conducted in regions of Ladakh.
  • Main Objective – Enhancing Army’s preparedness and operational capabilities in mountainous terrains near India-China Border.

Mitra Shakti

  • Military Joint Exercises.
  • Held 10th edition between two nations – India and Sri Lanka.
  • Will be held at Maduruoya, Sri Lanka.
  • Main Aim – To enhance their readiness to address common security concerns and maintain regional stability.

Joint Exercises of Air Force


Udara Shakti 2024

  • Joint exercises by Indian Air Force and Royal Malaysian Air Force.
  • Conducted from 5th August to 9th August, 2024 at Kuantan, Malaysia.
  • IAF participated with Su-30MKI fighter jets.
  • Main Aim – Bolstering operational efficiency, technical experts of both Air Forces engaged in exchange of their maintenance practices.

Tarang Shakti

  • By Indian Air Force (IAF).
  • 18 countries, 10 of them with air assets, will join the exercise.
  • Will be conducted in two phases in August at Sulur in Tamil Nadu and September at Jodhpur.
  • Main Aim – To foster interoperability and share best practices and also to showcase indigenous defence industry.
  • Phase-1 Participation –
    • Germany,
    • France,
    • Spain,
    • and the U.K.
  • Phase-2 Participation –
    • Australia,
    • Bangladesh,
    • Greece,
    • Singapore,
    • United Arab Emirates,
    • and the U.S.
  • The Indian Navy will participate in Phase-1 with its MiG-29K carrier borne fighters.
  • will see a total of 150 aircraft, both foreign and IAF.
